(San Diego), CA – August 1, 2019 – Susan Anthony, Chief Operating Officer of Finance of America Reverse LLC (FAR), has been named a 2019 HousingWire Woman of Influence. She is one of 50 women to earn this distinction for her impact on and dedication to the mortgage industry.

The Women of Influence winners represent a variety of roles within the housing industry, each displaying leadership that inspires those in their own companies, in their communities and across the industry at large.

“This recognition is testament to Sue’s passion and dedication to our industry and, perhaps more importantly, shows that it’s possible to lead with compassion and empathy,” said Kristen Sieffert, President of FAR. “She is an integral part of our company’s overall success and a driving force behind our supportive culture, a combination that allows FAR to go above and beyond for all clients and partners.”

Anthony, a 33-year veteran in the mortgage industry, started working for FAR in 2014 to implement a new automated underwriting system and loan origination software structure to help improve the company’s productivity and profitability. She was quickly recognized for her success in this role and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2016.

“I’m honored to be included among this group of inspiring industry leaders,” said Anthony. “This is more than a job for me. Not only is my team like family, but our work at FAR is an opportunity to give back and help our clients achieve their goals. I’m proud to be a part of a company that is redefining our industry.”

As a leader in the industry, Anthony is helping FAR transform the way people approach retirement and their mission is to continue to invest in the resources necessary to highlight the power of education. Anthony is one of many female leaders at the helm of FAR helping turn people’s retirement visions into realities.

“Very often, when faced with a challenging situation, I ask myself, ‘What would Sue do?’,” said Sydney Muir, VP of Wholesale Operations at FAR. “I’ve been in this business for a long time and can honestly say I’ve never worked for or with anyone that inspires me like Sue. She has a way of not only helping you to be better at your job but also helping you to be a better person. She has truly made a difference in FAR operations and created an amazing team atmosphere.”

“Our Women of Influence are some of the strongest, most powerful thought leaders in the mortgage industry, paving the way for others to follow,” HousingWire Associate Editor Kelsey Ramírez said. “These women continue to lead across all areas of housing and represent the movers and shakers of the housing industry as we know it.”

This is the ninth year that HousingWire has recognized the female talent that is driving the industry forward and the nominations grow more competitive every year. Every sector of the housing economy is represented: residential mortgage lending, servicing, investing and real estate; as well as those in advocacy positions, including nonprofits and governmental agencies.
